Today, 5 December, we celebrate International Volunteer Day, and at Banco Sabadell, we want to pay tribute to our volunteers by reflecting on the social impact and participation achieved in a year that has been extraordinary

The dedication of our volunteers goes beyond the hours spent: it is the heartbeat of a community-committed heart and the emotion felt when participating in solidarity initiatives is like listening to a song we like that makes us vibrate inside.

In 2023, nearly 1800 people from Banco Sabadell participated in solidarity initiatives. This collective commitment defines who we are as a Bank: we act with empathy, give selflessly and engage with society in solidarity.

  • 195 people delivered more than 1200 financial education workshops in schools that impacted almost 10,000 beneficiaries.
  • 55 coaches accompanied 40 young people for 6 weeks to help them resume their studies in the Project Coach of the Exit Foundation
  • In collaboration with the Quiero Trabajo Foundation, 77 volunteers have helped women at risk of vulnerability, people from the LGTBIQ+ community, people with functional diversity, and young people on day parole to prepare for job interviews.
  • 40 mentors with a pre-executive profile have accompanied social entities in the BValue program promoted by our foundation, to design new income generation models and to professionalise their value proposition, moving away from traditional philanthropic schemes.
  • In collaboration with the Alares Foundation, we have conducted 66 digitalisation sessions in senior centres in Salamanca, Malaga, Seville, Madrid, Barcelona, etc., to bring technology closer to senior citizens with the aim of improving their integration and reducing the digital divide.
  • We have organised eight sessions in our corporate centres, in collaboration with the Red Cross and Blood and Tissue Bank, to facilitate blood donation by our volunteers, achieving record donation figures!
  • In May, 34 teams participated in a new edition of the Oxfam Intermon Trailwalker, raising more than €50,000 to help bring water to Latin America, Sub-Saharan African countries, and conflict zones such as Ukraine and Palestine.
  • We have organised hackathons, participated in charity races, activated fund-raising initiatives for emergencies and natural disasters, mentored novice entrepreneurs and self-employed people, we have become like the Three Wise Men, collaborated with the Barcelona Fire Department, and provided data analysis sessions to young people from vulnerable social environments.

…and a long list of initiatives that grows year after years because WE ARE MORE every day.

On this special day, we applaud and thank you deeply for your commitment. Your selfless dedication is an example of generosity that inspires and motivates more people to join the cause. Because, like music, it is a way of feeling and sharing. And we will soon share it with everyone.

Thanks for being the musical note that composes our melody to create a social impact!
