Banco Sabadell has launched a transformation programme for its main corporate campuses to promote a working model that enhances collaboration across teams, streamlines decision-making and speeds up the execution of strategic initiatives. To achieve this, the bank will refurbish and reconfigure workspaces in Sant Cugat, Madrid and Alicante, while physically bringing together teams whose roles require closer interaction.

The CBS building in Sant Cugat will undergo a two-year internal refurbishment to support a more collaborative way of working, following the successful completion of a pilot programme within the bank. The project will also optimise the use of office space, enabling the future integration of employees currently based at the Plaza Catalunya building in Sabadell.

At Banco Sabadell’s Madrid corporate centre in Las Tablas, workspace layouts will be reorganised to create additional collaborative areas and further encourage cross-functional teamwork.

This initiative will enable us to accelerate Banco Sabadell’s transformation, as it will provide us with workspaces and ways of working that foster greater connectivity and collaboration across teams. We will be able to develop and deploy projects more quickly, all with the aim of delivering a better service to our customers by combining our close relationship with families and businesses with strong technological capabilities.
CEO, Marc Armengol

The bank’s headquarters on Óscar Esplá Street in Alicante will also be renovated to support more agile and transversal organisational and working practices. The site currently houses around 400 employees and will welcome a further 200 professionals relocating from the Alicante Technology Competence Centre (CCTA) building in Agua Amarga.

As a result, Alicante will become a major corporate hub serving more than 600 professionals across technology, retail and business banking, organisation and people, and other core functions. Alicante is a strategic market for Banco Sabadell, where the bank holds a 33% market share in the retail segment and serves seven out of every ten companies operating in the province.

Over the medium term, Banco Sabadell will therefore consolidate its central services across its three main corporate locations in Sant Cugat, Madrid and Alicante. In parallel, the bank will initiate the sale of the buildings located in Agua Amarga and San Fernando Street, both in Alicante, as well as the Plaza Catalunya building in Sabadell. The Group will retain ownership of its building in Plaça Sant Roc, Sabadell, which will continue to serve as its registered headquarters.

Projects Hub

As part of this plan, the bank will build a new Projects Hub adjacent to its Sant Cugat corporate centre, dedicated to the development of strategic initiatives in areas such as artificial intelligence, private banking and digital banking. The facility, designed to accommodate approximately 600 professionals, is expected to become operational in 2030 and will feature flexible workspaces tailored to different ways of working.

In the meantime, Banco Sabadell will launch a temporary Projects Hub in mid-October, with an initial portfolio of 12 projects selected for their strategic importance and potential for accelerated delivery.

The bank is undergoing a broad transformation programme and aims to execute strategic projects at a significantly faster pace than in the past, always with the goal of delivering solutions to customers in a more agile and effective manner.
