On International Volunteer Day we want to pay homage to all our volunteers by looking back on the social and charitable impact that has been made thanks to their generosity.

In 2024, 2,800 Banco Sabadell employees participated in solidarity initiatives. This collective commitment defines who we are as an institution: we act with empathy, give selflessly and engage with society in solidarity.

Below we take a look back at the many programmes, projects and volunteering we have collaborated in and supported over the year:

  • 230 people delivered more than 1,300 financial literacy and education workshops in schools that impacted almost 10,000 beneficiaries.
  • 36 coaches accompanied 36 young people for 6 weeks to help them resume their studies as part of the Éxit Foundation’s Project Coach.
  • In collaboration with the Quiero Trabajo Foundation, 94 volunteers have helped women at risk of vulnerability, those from the LGTBIQ+ community, people with functional diversity, and young people on day parole to prepare for job interviews.
  • 40 mentors with a pre-executive profile have accompanied social entities as part of the BValue programme fostered by the Banco Sabadell Foundation, to design new income generation models and professionalise their value proposition, fostering social innovation and moving away from traditional philanthropic schemes.
  • In collaboration with the Alares Foundation, 79 Banco Sabadell volunteers gave digitalisation sessions in senior centres in Salamanca, Malaga, Seville, Madrid, Barcelona, etc., to bring technology closer to senior citizens with a view to improving their integration and reducing the digital divide.
  • We organised nine events in our corporate centres in collaboration with the Red Cross and the Blood and Tissue Bank, among other entities, to help our volunteers give blood, achieving record donation figures!
  • 54 teams participated in a new edition of the Oxfam Intermon Trailwalker, a charity run that raised more than €50,000 to help bring water to Latin America, Sub-Saharan African countries, and conflict zones such as Ukraine and Palestine.
  • 934 bank staff have joined together to achieve the Sanitas Healthy Cities Challenge.
  • We have held hackathons, participated in charity races, undertaken fund-raising initiatives for emergencies and natural disasters, mentored novice entrepreneurs and self-employed people, we have taken on the role of the Three Wise Men and Women, collaborated with the Barcelona Fire Department, and provided data analysis sessions to young people from vulnerable social environments.

These are extraordinary figures that grow year in and year out, a testament to the #WeAreSabadell spirit that is so very much part of us. Thank you one and all for your selfless dedication that inspires us and motivates an increasing number of people to become corporate volunteers.
