Today, 9 September, we celebrate World Agriculture Day, a key date that recognises the essential role that farmers play in our society. In a context marked by climatic, economic, geopolitical and social challenges, the agricultural sector continues—as always—to demonstrate its capacity for adaptation, innovation and resilience.

Banco Sabadell’s commitment to agriculture

At Banco Sabadell, through Negocio Agrario, we would like to pay tribute to those who work the land with effort, knowledge and passion. We do so by reaffirming our commitment to agriculture that is:

  • Specialised, with financial solutions tailored to the real needs of the primary sector.
  • Innovative, supporting digitalisation, the circular economy and the use of technologies that improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Sustainable, promoting green financing lines that promote environmentally responsible practices.
  • Committed, with a network of more than 300 Agro offices and an expert team that supports farmers, winegrowers, winegrowers and fishermen every step of the way.

August 2025 was a tragic month for many and there was a strong response from Banco Sabadell, also supporting farmers affected by the fires of 2025

This year, we would especially like to highlight our support for farmers and stockbreeders affected by the forest fires that have hit hard in areas such as Galicia, Asturias, Castilla y León, Extremadura and the Community of Madrid.

Banco Sabadell has activated a 45 million euro financing facility with preferential conditions and zero fees, in addition to the advance of insurance indemnities at 0% interest. Because in difficult times, standing shoulder to shoulder with the sector is more important than ever.

“Our commitment to the agricultural sector goes beyond offering specialised financial solutions. It is a commitment to support, of standing by those who work the land, especially in difficult times such as those experienced this year with the fires. Each farmer represents a story of effort that deserves to be supported with respect, dedication and real support.”

José Antonio Morante Martínez, Director of the Agriculture Segment, Banco Sabadell
