Through their joint venture, Banco Sabadell and Zurich take another step forward with their shared strategy and strengthen their alliance with the launch of new products on the market and their new ZENIT range, to continue building on their position as a lead player in the insurance industry and to pursue the insurer’s strategy of maintaining strong growth, with Life and Home insurance seen as key to achieving that goal.
José Manuel Veiga, director of Value Proposition, Analytics and Subscription at Sabadell Seguros, says that “the launch of these new products completes the transformation of our new range of value propositions launched jointly with Banco Sabadell in 2024. This process has been guided by the objective of putting the customer centre stage, by offering high quality insurance solutions tailored to their needs and to the desired level of insurance”.
“And all this has been possible thanks to the close collaboration between the Bank and the insurer over the last two years, with the shared goal of consolidating the leadership we achieved in 2024, fortifying our position as the bancassurance provider most likely to be recommended by our customers, and to be able to offer our customers the best value propositions, in terms of eligibility criteria, in the bancassurance sector”, said Veiga.
BanSabadell Vida, Seguros Generales y Pensiones is a joint venture formed in 2008 as a result of the alliance Zurich formed with Banco Sabadell to market insurance across the Bank’s branch network, more than 17 years ago.
Specifically, BanSabadell Vida, whose results went from strength to strength in 2025, remains in second place in the national ranking, with spectacular growth when compared against the market and its main competitors, having risen from 11% market share in the second quarter to 12.7% in the third quarter. Premiums totalled €3,471 million, indicating growth of 178.2% compared with the same period the year before. On the other hand, BanSabadell Seguros Generales has grown 11.6%, compared to 7.3% in the market as a whole, largely due to growth in the multi-risk Home insurance segment where premiums increased by 14%, and in the Health insurance segment, which grew 27%.
Strategic areas for growth
Following these excellent results, Sabadell Seguros is launching two new value propositions to the market, in the strategic Life and Home insurance segments: Sabadell Seguros Hogar and Sabadell Seguros Vida, tailored to the needs of different customer segments and designed using feedback from more than 6,000 customers. These value propositions incorporate coverage and services tailored to the three main customer segments and offer three policy options depending on the level of coverage: Standard, Plus and Premium.
Additionally, Sabadell Seguros’ Home and Life ranges include three-year policy options under the ZENIT brand. For the first time, Sabadell Seguros will offer a fixed premium that will not increase for three years, building trust with its customers. This is a remarkable new feature because the company undertakes not to increase customers’ premiums for three years, thus giving them peace of mind, irrespective of claims history, age or the CPI.
Home insurance: in the Customer Survey, customers asked for tailored solutions. Consequently, a simple and straightforward range was created, adapted to the actual needs of each customer, and innovative coverages have been added.
- Sabadell Seguros Hogar Standard, Plus and Premium: an annual policy with fully comprehensive coverage, such as all-risk accidental damage cover, and with specific coverages for homeowners, landlords and tenants, including rent and eviction claims services, garden reconstruction and outdoor theft, or legal claims against landlords. These new products can be adapted to customers’ protection needs, offering three policy options: Standard, Plus and Premium, with fully comprehensive coverage, such as theft, fire, electrical or damp damage, 24/7 assistance, emergency assistance in under 3 hours and family and pet civil liability, as well as other highly valued services such as household appliance repairs, handyman services or digital veterinary consultations.
- The ZENIT option: Sabadell Seguros Hogar Standard, Plus and Premium, includes the same features as the previous policy but in a three-year policy, in which the premium remains the same for three years, with no changes applied for claims history or inflation. It also allows monthly payments with no surcharge and offers exclusive benefits, such as an IT support service or energy efficiency service. And to repay the trust of customers choosing the three-year policy option, the insurance company is committed to sending a claims assessor within 24 hours and will pay compensation in less than 48 hours; under certain policy options, it also pledges to start repairs within 24 hours. They are so confident about this commitment, that they will pay customers up to 200 euros in the event of failure to uphold it.
With this new product range, Sabadell Seguros delivers on its commitment to be ever more finely tuned to its customers’ needs. In 2024, it became the first bancassurance company to incorporate comprehensive cover against squatting, reaching beyond the legal protection included in conventional home insurance policies. It offers affordable protection covering the costs of recovering the property and any damage caused by squatters, utility costs and compensation for accommodation or for loss of rental income.
Life Insurance: in the Customer Survey, customers asked for tailored solutions and competitive pricing, especially in the age groups that need it most.
- Sabadell Seguros Vida Standard, Plus and Premium: annual policy with the services and coverage most commonly requested by customers, such as coverage for serious illness (such as cancer or heart attack) or home care due to hospitalisation, among other things. And a tailored offer for families, adults and those over 50. Life insurance products are increasingly designed to be used during the customer’s lifetime. At any rate, this is the philosophy of Sabadell Seguros, which has incorporated new coverages in its Life insurance to protect its policyholders at key moments of huge importance to them on both a physical and psychological level. Coverage may range from severe disability to broken bones to household help with children’s studies. Apart from protecting what is most important to customers, as an insurance company, Sabadell Seguros faces a challenge: providing services, capital and value-added coverage, with tangible value from the outset, tailored to the changing needs of each stage of the customer’s life. They believe in a new concept of healthy and secure living by supporting customers in their daily lives with additional prevention and wellness services. Sabadell Seguros Vida offers a wide range of services, such as medical advice 24 hours per day, mental health care from a team of psychologists, and personalised advice on paediatrics, nutrition, sports training, allergies and infant feeding, among other things.
- The ZENIT option: Sabadell Seguros Vida Standard, Plus and Premium with the three-year policy option keeps the premium the same for three years with no change applied as the policyholder ages, and it can be paid in monthly instalments with no surcharge. It also offers exclusive benefits, such as the 24-hour legal advice service and a second medical opinion given by international experts, a very highly valued service according to customer surveys.
