Banco Sabadell is successfully progressing with the consolidation of its private banking model rolled out two years ago, having obtained turnover in excess of 66 billion euros at the end of April 2025, an increase of 33% since implementation of the strategy began. SabadellUrquijo, the Institution’s specialised unit in this segment, is consolidating its position as one of the leading players in the sector with more than 130,000 clients (+40%) who demonstrate their confidence in the service through their increasing volume of assets under management.

Xavier Blanquet, Assistant General Manager of Banco Sabadell and Business Director of SabadellUrquijo Private Banking underlined that “in the last two years the value proposition has been entirely transformed, whilst maintaining the essence of Banco Sabadell: dedication to customer service. Following the past few years of strong growth, both in client numbers and in turnover, we remain focused on the continuous improvement of each and every aspect that shapes our value proposition. Customer satisfaction and client recommendations are what will make us continue to grow”.

The value proposition has been a significant milestone in the evolution of the Institution’s asset management approach, which is based on personalisation and a specialised product offering. Its core value lies in the broad collaboration between the Bank’s different networks (commercial, business banking and private banking), which allows it to identify opportunities and address clients’ needs from all angles. This coordination is complemented by a product offering developed by the Bank’s team of specialists, combining innovation and customisation in the range of products and services offered.

Another key aspect for Banco Sabadell is the close support provided and client confidence instilled by the bankers, which is reflected by the customer experience levels measured by the Net Promoter Score (NPS) and the level of customers’ satisfaction with their manager.

Among the most popular and sought-after private banking products are mutual funds and discretionary management portfolios, together with structured products, insurance products and alternative assets. The agreements entered into with Amundi and Zurich are key to the ability to offer an attractive and competitive product range.

Private banking model recognised by the Global Private Banker Awards 2025

Driven by its solid results in recent years and the strength of its strategy, Banco Sabadell’s Private Banking business has been recognised, for the second consecutive year, at the Global Private Banker Awards 2025, with four awards: Private Banker of the Year – Europe, Best Private Bank for Multi-Asset Products, Best Discretionary & Advisory Service Offering – Overall, and Outstanding Client Experience in Wealth Management – Overall.

These awards, organised by Global Private Banker, a leading publication in the field of international finance, recognise institutions that have distinguished themselves globally because of their excellence in asset management, product innovation and high quality customer service. The awards ceremony took place in Singapore on 4 June and was attended by leading private banking firms from around the world at an event that recognises best practice in the sector.

Xavier Blanquet, Private Banker of the year – Europe

One of the most outstanding awards of the evening was the Private Banker of the Year – Europe award granted to Xavier Blanquet, Assistant General Manager and Private Banking Business Director. The panel of judges commended his capacity to drive business growth, consolidate a customer-centric strategy, and ensure the delivery of high value-added advisory services.

With regard to the Private Banking business itself, the award for Best Private Bank for Multi-Asset Products highlights a product range that combines mutual funds, advised investment portfolios, structured products, life insurance and personalised advisory services. This strategy has contributed to obtaining higher returns for both clients and institutions, increasing assets under management and optimising the customer experience.

In parallel, the Institution has been recognised with the award for Best Discretionary & Advisory Service Offering – Overall, on the strength of its specialised model which achieved a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 38% in 2024 and whose new client acquisition is achieved mainly through personal recommendations (86%).

The fourth award, Outstanding Client Experience in Wealth Management – Overall, highlights the Institution’s commitment to continuous service improvement and digital transformation.

This progress achieved at Banco Sabadell is reflected in record-breaking customer satisfaction levels: in April 2025, the Net Promoter Score reached 45%, exceeding the level at the end of the previous year by seven percentage points, while the overall grading of service was 9.3 out of 10. In addition, 81.4% of clients gave the Institution a score of 9 or 10, identifying customer care, service quality and personalisation, in particular, as the main reasons for recommending it.

Other award winners at this edition of the Private Banker awards were J.P. Morgan, Citi, Bank of America, Bank of Singapore, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank and HSBC.
