22 January 2025

The Board of Directors of Banco Sabadell has decided to move the Group’s registered office back to Sabadell, the city that the Bank was named after when it was founded in 1881 and where it remained for 136 years, until its move to Alicante in 2017 due to exceptional circumstances.

The Board considered that this is the right time for the Institution to return to its original home after seven years in Alicante “now that the circumstances that gave rise to its relocation no longer exist”.

The change of registered office will not entail any consequences for customers, who will continue to have access to the same services and operations, and will communicate with the same contact persons in the Institution to carry out transactions and receive advice. The Bank will continue to prioritise offering excellent quality of service to its customers.

This move will not affect the Institution’s professionals either, as they will remain in their current locations.

From the point of view of shareholders, the only significant change will be the change of venue of the Annual General Meeting, which this year will take place in the city of Sabadell.

Strengthening the commitment to the Community of Valencia

Today, the Board of Directors has strengthened its resolve to continue contributing to the economic and social development of Alicante and the entire Community of Valencia. It has also stressed that this decision does not involve any change to the branch network in the Community or to the number or location of professionals working there.

Given its special support and connection, the Institution has approved the transfer to Alicante of its annual meeting of Advisory Boards, as well as the Banco Sabadell Foundation’s annual Marine Sustainability Awards ceremony.

The commitment to support SMEs, businesses and self-employed people in the Community of Valencia will continue to be underpinned by the activities of the Companies Hub that the Group runs in Valencia.

The Bank also has the Technological Skills Centre of Alicante (Centro de Competencias Tecnológicas de Alicante, or CCTA), where 300 of the Institution’s employees work and which indirectly employs a further 400 people. Its activity is based on promoting and reinforcing artificial intelligence and the Bank’s digital strategy by means of cutting-edge projects in innovation, through partnership agreements with business partners, universities and research groups.
