Banco Sabadell’s private banking division was recognised at the Euromoney Private Banking Awards as best in Spain for customer service and sustainability. These distinctions underscore its personalised advisory model and the integration of responsible criteria into the Institution’s wealth management offering.

Organised by the British financial magazine Euromoney and held in London, these awards recognise each year those institutions that stand out in wealth management at a global, regional and national level.

A personalised advisory model focused on client relationships

The award for best customer service recognises the Institution's relationship model implemented in recent years. The private banking value proposition is built around the role of the Head of Private Banking, who serves as the client’s main liaison, offering solutions tailored to different levels of wealth and supporting clients throughout the various stages of their financial planning.

This approach is reflected in key customer satisfaction indicators used to measure service quality. In December 2025, Sabadell Urquijo recorded a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 45% – up seven points from a year earlier. Clients’ average rating of their banker stood at 9.30 out of 10 (+0.35 compared with the previous year-end).

The value proposition is supplemented by services designed to reinforce client relationships, including 24/7 dedicated support and the preparation of specialised reports on economic trends and investment opportunities.

Sustainability is gaining prominence in the Institution’s wealth management offering

The second award presented by Euromoney recognises the Institution’s sustainability strategy within its private banking business. The integration of environmental, social and good governance criteria has become a core component of the Bank’s wealth management advisory approach.

As at 2025 year-end, 84% of client assets invested in non-guaranteed Sabadell Asset Management funds or distributed through the Bank’s strategic alliance with Amundi promoted environmental or social characteristics or pursued sustainable objectives.

The Institution’s has doubled down on this approach in recent years by developing specific services, such as Cartera Sabadell, the Bank’s discretionary portfolio management solution classified as an Article 8 product under the EU Sustainable Finance Regulation. This is complemented by the adoption of international standards such as the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), which guide the inclusion of ESG criteria in investment decisions.

Alongside sustainability, technological innovation has become another key pillar of the business evolution. Recent developments include the ability to arrange and manage investment mandates via the mobile app or through the website.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Bank expects to launch a new app with enhanced features, as well as the development of a digital broker aimed at expanding clients’ investment capabilities.

Private banking in full expansion

The two recognitions received at the Euromoney Awards come at a time of strong growth for Banco Sabadell’s private banking business. The division has accelerated its expansion in recent years following the strategic transformation undertaken by the Institution to strengthen its wealth management offering.

As at 2025 year-end, Sabadell Urquijo reported over 72.5 billion euros in assets under management for approximately 142,000 clients, representing an increase of around 13% compared with the previous year and significant growth over the last three years. This momentum has also translated into a higher contribution to Banco Sabadell Group’s profits.

Activity is led by the team managed by Ramón de la Riva, Deputy General Manager, and Xavier Blanquet, Assistant General Manager of Banco Sabadell and Director of SabadellUrquijo Private Banking Business. Under their leadership, the Institution has fortified its structure of specialists and expanded its advisory capabilities to meet the needs of increasingly demanding and sophisticated clients.

The growth of the business, the consolidation of a model based on personalised advisory services, and a strong focus on innovation and responsible investment explain the international recognition awarded to the Group’s private banking division in recent months. The Euromoney Awards come at a time of consolidation for Sabadell Urquijo, which aims to further strengthen its position within the Spanish wealth management sector.
