Banco Sabadell, elegida como Mejor Entidad de Banca Privada de España por Global Private Banker

SabadellUrquijo Banca Privada - the brand under which Banco Sabadell offers its private banking services - has been recognised with the award for Best Private Banking Entity in Spain, by Global Private Banker. This renowned company specialises in providing market data to the wealth management segment of the financial industry, and also produces specialised publications for the same segment. The award was accepted by Xavier Blanquet, Assistant General Manager of Banco Sabadell and Director of the Sabadell Urquijo Private Banking business, at a gala awards ceremony held in London.

The award, presented as part of the Global Private Banking Innovation Awards 2024, recognises Banco Sabadell’s drive to boost its private banking activity over the past financial year, when it reorganised and strengthened this line of business, tripling both the number of relationship managers and the size of the customer base for these services. As a result of this new approach, SabadellUrquijo achieved profits of €132m in 2023, representing 10% of Banco Sabadell Group’s total profit in the same year.

When presenting the award, the panel of judges of Global Private Banker singled out SabadellUrquijo’s “commitment to customer-centric service delivery” and also highlighted its “personalised financial solutions that are tailored to the customer’s needs” and its “sustained growth of assets under management and revenue”.

During the presentation ceremony, Xavier Blanquet expressed his pleasure at receiving the award, and stated that it “represents the culmination of the hard work carried out jointly between the Bank’s branch network and the corporate centre. It also gives us extra motivation to continue enhancing and developing a network-based private banking business model, drawing on collaborative management across the network”. This award comes on top of other accolades received by the SabadellUrquijo team in recent years. In 2022, Banco Sabadell had more bankers at the finalist stage of the Citywire Awards than any other financial institution and, in previous years, a number of private banking managers were recognised for their professional excellence.
