Banco Sabadell has consolidated its position as one of the leading firms in the European financial landscape, after winning an award for Most Honoured Company in the small & midcap banks category, organised by Extel, formerly Institutional Investor Research. This prestigious award is given to companies that receive the highest scores from institutional investors and analysts from all over the world.

In this edition, the Bank did extremely well in the votes to select award-winners in multiple categories, reaffirming its position as a leader in the financial sector. In the ‘small & midcap’ category, Banco Sabadell’s Chief Executive Officer, César González-Bueno, was voted best CEO in Europe’s financial sector, while its Chief Financial Officer, Leopoldo Alvear, picked up the prize for best CFO. Both accolades reflect the outstanding management and leadership capabilities demonstrated by both executives.

Banco Sabadell receives award for ‘Most Honoured Company’

The team led by Lluc Sas received the award for ‘Most Honoured Company’ in the small & midcap banks category, thus consolidating their leadership in the sector. This award is given out every year to recognise the companies with the highest scores in the various rankings under consideration.

Lluc Sas, head of the Shareholder and Investor Relations team at Banco Sabadell, was also voted best shareholder relations professional on the continent, an award he had already received in the past.

According to the head of Banco Sabadell’s Shareholders and Investors Relations team, Lluc Sas, “this new accolade is very important for us, as it comes from the scores given to us by investors and analysts with whom we interact every day, and it demonstrates the value that we add to the information that we share with them. The fact that we have received awards in several consecutive years shows that both our team and the Bank as a whole are doing things well”.

Furthermore, Banco Sabadell’s sustainability programme, ‘Sabadell’s Commitment to Sustainability’, was voted the best from among those of all European companies competing in that category, in a testament to the Bank’s commitment to responsible and sustainable practices.

A comprehensive analysis based on the opinions of more than 5,500 institutional investors and analysts

These awards are based on independent surveys conducted by Extel, which every year gathers the opinions of more than 5,500 institutional investors and analysts from some 2,000 management companies and analytical firms across the globe. The criteria according to which professionals and teams in the financial sector are scored include aspects such as credibility, leadership, quality of the information provided and response time, all of which makes these awards an essential yardstick for measuring the performance of key players in the financial markets.

With these new accolades, Banco Sabadell has reinforced its position as one of the most prominent institutions in Europe in terms of investor relations and executive leadership, cementing its spot as a leader in transparency, efficiency and sustainability in the financial sector.
