• Banco Sabadell brought together more than 1,500 managers at the annual conventions of its six Territorial Divisions
  • The Institution reaffirmed the targets set out in its Strategic Plan 2025-2027, which include ROTE of 16% and shareholder remuneration of 6.45 billion euros

The Chief Executive Officer of Banco Sabadell, César González-Bueno, addressing more than 1,500 managers from the Bank’s six Territorial Divisions, assured them the Institution is “ready to grow more, to be more profitable, and to become the best bank in Spain”.

Speaking at the events held in Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante, Malaga, Oviedo and San Sebastian, González-Bueno reaffirmed the objectives set out in the Strategic Plan 2025-2027: increase business activity with growth in market shares and segments, focus on Spain, take forward the digitalisation process, efficiently manage costs, and improve the risk profile.

“We are ready and our current situation is enviable. We are going to pick up the pace of our growth and capital generation, with our sights set on maintaining attractive profitability and keeping some very solid remuneration for our shareholders”, said the CEO.

González-Bueno explained that the main value that sets Banco Sabadell apart is its “enormous business capability and the strong dedication to service of all the Institution’s employees, which has allowed us to retain our customers’ confidence over the past few months and to earn the trust of many more”.

In addition, “our levels of employee commitment are at an all-time high, and team cohesion and mainstreaming is improving by the day, thanks to the profound transformation of the Bank that we have achieved between all of us”.

The General Manager of Business Banking, Network and Private Banking, Carlos Ventura, agreed that “the Bank has a unique and distinct opportunity to continue delivering healthy growth and being a success story, especially in the segment of SMEs and corporates, which are the jewel of our crown”.

“Looking to the future, we are convinced that Banco Sabadell’s project is very achievable, very authentic, and very much our own”, concluded Ventura during his speech.

On that topic, Banco Sabadell Network Director Jaime Matas added that “our project proves that we are a united network, with character, vision, and talent. We are ready to build the future of the Institution, growing with our people, our customers, and our shareholders”.

Team commitment and professionalism

Speaking at the Convention of the Central Territorial Division, which covers the Community of Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha, its regional director, José Manuel Candela, thanked the entire team for their effort and devotion, noting that “this is a historic year for us, with workplace environment ratings the highest they have ever been and with some very positive financial results”.

“We have a great future ahead of us, thanks to the effort of all employees at the Bank. In 2026 we will consolidate the projects that are currently underway and we will begin many others, focusing on the customer, as we have always done. We aspire to become the best bank in Spain”, added Candela.

In the case of Catalonia, the director of its Territorial Division, Xavier Comerma, made a point of highlighting the high level of commitment of the entire team at the Bank: “We have shown it time and time again over the past few months, and we will continue to do so going forward, now that we have set ourselves the goal of becoming not only the best bank in Spain, but also the best institution in Catalonia”.

At the Convention of the Eastern Territorial Division, held in Alicante, its regional director, Fernando Canós, also praised the staff, saying that “despite the uncertainty, our employees have been able to continue working with the same level of dedication, and this has been reflected in the fact that our shareholders, customers, associations and institutions have continued to put their faith in us. Banco Sabadell has a great future ahead of it and we are going to continue working hard to further strengthen our links with large corporates, SMEs and households in the Valencian Community, Murcia, and the Balearic Islands”.

The dedication and effort put in by the Bank’s employees was also a keynote at the Convention of the Northwestern Territorial Division. Its regional director, Pablo Junceda, thanked the entire team for their commitment and hard work. “We need to continue working on the values that define us in Asturias, Galicia and Castilla y Leon, which include proximity, transparency, and actively listening to our customers. We are a bank that is devoted to the region, and that will continue to be the case throughout 2026”, said Junceda.

In a similar vein, Iñaki Navarro, director of the Northern Territorial Division of Banco Sabadell, reiterated “the continuity of our strategy of supporting households and the local productive fabric, especially SMEs, which are a key segment of the economy and where Banco Sabadell is the leading bank at the domestic level. It goes without saying that we will continue to support businesses and households in the regions in which the Division operates, namely the Basque Country, Navarre, Cantabria, Aragon and La Rioja”, said Navarro.

At the Convention of Banco Sabadell’s Southern Territorial Division, there was also talk of people and the future. Its regional director, Juan Krauel, emphasised that “our team is the foundation of our success” and in the coming years “we will need to devote ourselves to doing what we have always done: work to offer households and companies in Andalusia, the Canary Islands and Extremadura the best products and services and be useful in the regions in which we operate”.
