Sabadell Consumer Finance, a company specialising in consumer finance and wholly owned by Banco Sabadell, has appointed Lucas Carné to be an Independent Director. With a solid track record as an entrepreneur and in the digital and tech fields, Carné brings a wealth of knowledge about innovation, e-commerce, growth and strategic acumen to the company. Carné said that “the financial sector has recently been going through a very clear business transformation, especially in the areas that focus its strategy on segments linked to consumer finance. With a well-established foundation of modernisation and digital tools that continue to improve customer experience, I hope to use my insights and vision to help achieve the goals of Sabadell Consumer Finance”.

With a degree in mechanical engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and a master’s degree in business administration from IESE Business School, the new Independent Director is co-founder and co-CEO of the startup 011h, a next-generation construction startup founded in 2020. Prior to that, in 2006, he co-founded the successful fashion e-commerce platform Privalia, which was acquired by Vente Privee in 2016. Before becoming an entrepreneur, he worked at the strategic consultancy firm Bain & Company.
In addition to his new role at Sabadell Consumer Finance, Carné is also a member of the Advisory Board of Norrsken Barcelona and has held similar roles in other organisations, such as ING Iberia.
It is worth noting that Sabadell Consumer Finance has launched an e-commerce financing platform called InstantCredit. This 100% digital solution is precisely one of the areas in which Carné will be a huge asset, with his brilliant track record and extensive experience.
Composition of Sabadell Consumer Finance’s Advisory Board
With his most recent appointment, Lucas Carné joins Juan Corominas Guerín and Rosa Maria Sugrañes as Independent Directors of Sabadell Consumer Finance. The remaining members of the company’s Board of Directors are César González-Bueno, as Non-Executive Chairman; the company’s Managing Director, Mercè Serra, as Executive Director; and a further three Non-Executive Directors, Jorge Rodríguez Maroto, Mireya Giné Torrens and Carlos Paz Rubio.
