BStartup by Banco Sabadell has granted over one billion euros in funding to startups since its inception 10 years ago. The pioneer specialised banking service for startups and scaleups in Spain has dedicated teams to support this type of enterprises with funding and tailor-made products and services. Today, it has more than 4,500 startups among its customers. Its 360º approach to their financial needs has also made of Banco Sabadell one of the main investors in Spain in seed-stage startups: BStartup has invested in 85 startups.
Carlos Ventura, General Manager and Business Banking and Network Director of Banco Sabadell, weighs in on these 10 years: “In 2013, we saw that some of the young tech companies that were emerging were destined to be the big companies of the future, and despite having funding and development models which are very different from traditional companies, we could become the first bank in Spain to support them, thanks to our high specialisation in companies. BStartup has grown every year and we are proud of the role it has played during years of immense transformation of the Spanish economy, and we will continue to support these companies in their journey”.
Another example of Banco Sabadell’s commitment to the entrepreneurial ecosystem is BStartup’s presence for the ninth year in a row as main sponsor of 4YFN, the event that serves as a platform to connect startups, investors and corporations organised by the MWC Barcelona. 4YFN will be held in Barcelona between 27th February and 2nd March and Banco Sabadell will take part through its teams for finance and investment in startups, innovation and technology.
