We are getting closer to enjoying the best clay-court tennis tournament. From 12 to 20 April, the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – 72nd Conde de Godó Trophy will take place on the courts of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona – 1899, an unmissable event for tennis fans.

The 72nd edition of this iconic tournament has a spectacular lineup, led by Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, who will be hoping to win his third title in Barcelona after his victories in 2023 and 2022. The tournament will also feature confirmed appearances from Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev, Alex de Miñaur, and Holger Rune. Barcelona is once again the place to be to watch these great stars of world tennis up close.

The #BCNOpenBS Heats Up

One of the major announcements made at the official presentation of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Conde de Godó Trophy held recently at Barcelona’s Saló de Cent is that there will be less players competing in this years line-up. As a result, the tournament will have a reduced field, going from 48 to 32 players, with a higher final cut. This will lead to even more thrilling matches, as higher-ranked ATP players are expected to compete. So, we will get a top-class preliminary phase and we will be able to watch the top seeds and main favourites make their debuts right from the start, on Monday, 14 April, and Tuesday, 15 April.

Banco Sabadell, Committed to Sports

Banco Sabadell has supported the #BCNOpenBS for 18 years and we are the main sponsor with the longest association with the tournament (since 2008). Over the years, we have witnessed the development and consolidation of the standing of the tournament as an internationally and domestically significant event and a meeting point for the people of Catalonia, clients and partners.

But Banco Sabadell’s commitment to the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell– Trofeo Conde de Godó goes beyond being its main sponsor. The bank works closely with the Real Club de Tennis Barcelona to organise the tournament and foster tennis in general.

This was stated by the Chairman of Banco Sabadell, Josep Oliu, during the presentation event of this edition ‘We have sponsored the tournament for 18 years because we see it as a very important sporting event for the city of Barcelona. Over the years, we have forged a relationship and a sense of identity between the tournament, the Bank, the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899 (RCTB) and the Godó family, and it has become a key event’.
