Barcelona will be the epicentre of tennis, from 16 to 24 April, during the Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell – 69th Conde de Godó Trophy. This edition features the most advanced technologies such as the metaverse, through the immersive experience #SabadellTennisMetaverse developed by Banco Sabadell along with Accenture as a tech partner.
#SabadellTennisMetaverse is a fully immersive virtual reality experience that recreates the main court of the Reial Club de Tenis in Barcelona – 1899. To get in touch with the tennis metaverse, you will need Oculus goggles and controllers. Once equipped, you will virtually enter the club’s locker room where you will see instructions before accessing the tennis court. There, your mission will be to collect the balls you find on the court, place them in the various baskets found on the court and, to top it all off, you will be able to hold the famous tournament trophy.
Pol Navarro, Deputy General Manager and Director of Operations and Technology for Private Banking at Banco Sabadell, explains what the metaverse consists of, through the experience developed jointly with Accenture: “The #Metaverse allows us to connect the physical and virtual world and live much more immersive experiences. For companies, it allows us to hold meetings virtually as if we were experiencing them in person”.
Hundreds of people, children and adults alike, have enjoyed the immersive experience #SabadellTennisMetaverse and have shared it on their social media:
