Banco Sabadell CEO César González-Bueno conveyed the “unanimous gratitude of the entire organisation for the excellent work carried out by Robin Bulloch.”

He has a degree in Business Administration and Management from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, and has a specialisation in Information Technology from the Universiteit van Amsterdam.

In his first stage at Banco Sabadell Spain, he managed various areas of Operations, Technology and the Organisation function, and was a key element in the integrations that the Company carried out after multiple bank acquisitions. Later, he moved to the USA, where, in the role of COO America & International Network, he led the acquisition of entities in the American market, as well as the launch of Banco Sabadell’s banking subsidiary in Mexico.

During his time at TSB, he made a decisive contribution to the transformation and growth of the subsidiary’s digital business, as well as to aligning its strategic plan with the Group’s objectives.

Following his appointment, Armengol said he was “very proud to take on this new responsibility”, and further commented: “With my return to TSB, I look forward to contributing my effort and enthusiasm to the leadership of the Company, alongside the excellent work of my colleagues in the United Kingdom, with the clear objective of making TSB’s contribution [to the Group] even more robust.”

Elena Carrera takes over Operations and Technology

The appointment of Marc Armengol as the new CEO of TSB, pending the corresponding regulatory authorisations, is expected to take effect at the beginning of 2025, and implies his departure from the Board of Directors of Banco Sabadell.

The current general director of Sustainability and Efficiency, Elena Carrera, will take over the Operations and Technology department that Armengol was previously in charge of.

In this regard, González-Bueno has highlighted that Carrera “has extensive experience in the bank; her professional profile and her success at the head of numerous positions of responsibility and great relevance, make her the ideal person to lead the Operations and Technology department of Banco Sabadell”.

Carrera joined Banco Sabadell in 2015 as a director at Sabadell Consulting and two years later she was appointed director of Global Organisation and Corporate Projects, leading the bank’s transformation processes. In June 2022, she took over the position of Director of Efficiency and Corporate Projects. In June of this year, she joined the Management Committee as Director of Sustainability.

Carrera has a degree in Business Administration and Management from ESADE and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management (MBA) from the Columbia Business School in New York (USA).

Carrera’s two directorships are shared between two of the current members of the Committee. Sonia Quibus, General Director of People, will join the Sustainability area, and Marc Prat, General Director of Strategy, will join the Efficiency department.
