The Chairman of Banco Sabadell, Josep Oliu, took part in the official presentation of the 68th edition of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell held at Palauet Albéniz in Barcelona. From 17 to 25 April, the best players in the ATP ranking will gather at the facilities of the Real Club Tenis Barcelona.
For the fourteen year in a row, Banco Sabadell will once again serve as the main sponsor of one of the world’s leading ATP 500 tournaments. During his speech, Josep Oliu took stock of 2020 commenting that “it has been an intense year, in which the Bank adapted its ways of working while being by the side of its customers and enterprises that we knew were facing, or were soon expected to face, challenges. Oliu stated that this edition of Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell “marks a first step towards a return to normality, allowing society to once again enjoy the human connections fostered by sport, culture and all the experiences that make us happy”.
Once more, Rafa Nadal will be the headliner in a roster that features tennis players of the calibre of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Diego Schwartzman, Kei Nishikori, Denis Shapovalov, Roberto Bautista, David Goffin and Pablo Carreño, among others.
The presentation event of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell also featured speeches by the city’s mayor, Ada Colau, the entrepreneur and Count of Godó, Javier Godó, the President of the Real Club Tenis Barcelona, Jordi Cambra, the tournament’s Sporting Director, David Ferrer, and the Head of Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology at Hospital Clínica, Dr Antoni Trilla.
